The Impact
Almost 2 million people have been displaced from their homes. Roads have caved in, there is no electricity, and thousands remain stranded without shelter. The death toll has crossed 350, and hundreds of thousands more are suffering without access to clean water, medications, and sanitary conditions.
Next Steps
As with most disasters, the poorest people are the most affected, yet least likely to receive the help they urgently need.
